2021 is here, we’d like to take this time to reflect on everything we accomplished last year and what’s coming this year.

2020 was a huge year for Meter, with the launch of our mainnet, token sales, the release of the first Dapp built on our network, and more.

Let’s take a look at everything we accomplished in 2020 and what we’ll achieve in 2021 with respect to the development of our DeFi infrastructure, the adoption of MTR, and the growth of our community.

Roadmap for Meter’s DeFi Infrastructure

Over the past year, we made big strides in launching, improving, and decentralizing Meter’s DeFi infrastructure. …

You can now trade MTR and MTRG on the first DEX built on the Meter network.

We have announced several exciting developments in November, which include the official partnership announcement with our new partners, Oasis Protocol, Tokamak, NEST Protocol, as well as the cross-chain capability on Ethereum.

This time around, we are proud to introduce to you Meterswap, which is a Uniswap V2 fork completely running on the Meter mainnet. With Meterswap, you will be able to hold, trade, and speculate MTR and MTRG using MetaMask on Meter’s mainnet.

User experience is of the utmost importance at Meter. Having considered this, the team has made efforts to ensure that the ETH emulation mode at Meterswap runs smoothly and efficiently. The result is a platform akin to Apple’s M1 running x86 programs. …

Network and Product Updates

We’ve upgraded the Meter network!

Meter is now much more interoperable with Ethereum. You can use Metamask to interact with our mainnet, DApps built on Ethereum can easily integrate MTR and MTRG, and much more! …

We will integrate NEST Protocol’s oracles to bring their price reference data into the Meter development ecosystem.

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with NEST Protocol to integrate their oracle services into decentralized finance (DeFi) applications built on top of Meter!

By integrating NEST Protocol’s oracles, developers who build on Meter’s DeFi infrastructure will have access to reliable on-chain quotes.

NEST adopts a unique “quotation mining” mechanism to ensure that the traditional off-chain price data is generated on-chain synchronously. …

We have partnered with Tokamak to launch eMTR on the Tokamak Network and perform co-research on Ethereum side chains.

We are excited to announce that we’ve partnered with the Tokamak Network to bring eMTR, the ERC-20 version of our fully-decentralized metastable coin MTR, to their network!

Tokamak Network is a layer 2 protocol that includes plasma and roll-ups, and boosts interoperability, scalability, functionality, and usability. Security and data availability are guaranteed by the decentralized Ethereum blockchain.

Meter will work together with Tokamak on the following initiatives:

  • Launch our ERC-20 metastable coin eMTR on the Tokamak Network.
  • Perform joint research on integrating Meter’s side chain on Tokamak’s Layer 2 aggregation platform, and developing Ethereum side chains in general. …

With this upgrade, you can now use MetaMask to interact with the Meter mainnet and much more.

We are excited to announce that we’ve performed an upgrade to the Meter network!

This network upgrade makes Meter much more compatible with Ethereum and puts us in a great position to achieve our cross-chain interoperability goals.

In this post, we’ll go over why we’re building toward Ethereum, what we’ve launched already, and the key features that this network upgrade brings.

Why we’re building toward Ethereum

Meter was developed from the ground up for DeFi.

Before starting Meter in 2018 (and before DeFi was really ever a thing), we recognized that DeFi needed a low-volatility currency that can be used as a more stable medium of exchange and collateral. Additionally, DeFi apps had to have speed, scalability, and low fees in order to be easily usable for the masses. …

Oasis and Meter will work together to launch MTR on the Oasis Network to provide a fully-decentralized, stable medium of exchange for developers building privacy-focused DeFi applications.

Meter is DeFi infrastructure with a crypto-native, metastable currency, MTR, at its core. The Meter system uses Proof of Work to create MTR for fees and payments, and HotStuff-based Proof of Stake with the MTRG governance coin to validate transactions. …

The companies will launch MTR on the Oasis Network to provide a fully-decentralized, stable medium of exchange for developers building privacy-focused DeFi applications.

The Oasis Network is a Layer 1, Proof of Stake, decentralized blockchain network designed to support end-to-end confidentiality and data ownership. The ability to connect data and money is critical to enable Oasis Network’s vision for a “Responsible Data Economy”.

Deploying MTR on the Oasis Network will allow developers to integrate a fully-decentralized, stable, and now private token into their DeFi apps. …
